About Us

AMAZ dance team was started in 2010 as a recognized dance group under the ASIA organization at Syracuse University. Through hard work and dedication,  the team has grown from 10 to over 30 people, and has worked to build awareness throughout campus through performances at Syracuse University events, such as Asia Night, Homecoming, Nanhi Kali awareness and fundraiser campaigns, and Work In Asia informationals. 

 

AMAZ dance team represents various South Asian cultures through the incorporation of different forms of dance, including Bollywood dance, Classical Bharatanatyam and Kathak, Folk, Belly Dance, Contemporary, and Lyrical hip hop. We wish to put forth our mission of  paving a path for the amalgamation of various cultures via the soulful expression of music and dance. We believe that the bringing of these dance traditions to U.S. soil has created a wonderful dynamic between domestic, and international students, where creativity and personal expression is fostered.

 

We are an all inclusive dance team, and are welcome to anyone, graduate or undergraduate, male or female, who love to express themselves through the art of dance.
